December 2007: Media hotel "Goldenes Rad"
Apart from a fantastic view of Lake Constance, guests staying at the lakeside suites at the Best Western Hotel "Goldenes Rad" in Friedrichshafen can also enjoy the latest multimedia technology. As part of the T-City project, Intel, Reycom and Deutsche Telekom equipped seven apartments and two meeting rooms at the hotel with unique entertainment electronics and super-fast Internet access.
The media center of the Swiss manufacturer Reycom is based on Intel® Viiv™ processor technology and makes it easy for guests to use entertainment and infotainment services such as Videoload and Gamesload. It is also equipped with a photo service via the 42" HDTV screen and has a remote control or radio-controlled keyboard. Hotel guests can also use it to obtain information about local sights, restaurants and events. The media center also works as a digital video recorder and offers an electronic program guide. It is a DVD player, web radio and DVD recorder all in one and can be used as a fully-functional PC for working purposes, to call up e-mails and surf the high-speed Internet. Internet usage is included in the room charge.
